It’s the first full “work week” of the year, and if you’re anything like me, it’s been a struggle to get through this far, let alone all the way to Friday! I mean it’s so depressing; driving through downtown there are a few stains from the holiday season lingering; store windows decorated with smiling elves and snowmen, random strings of Christmas lights hanging on here and there and Tim Hortons holiday printed coffee cups littered all around the rain soaked streets. These things are constant reminders that (a) the holidays are officially way over, (b) we have to get back to the daily grind, and (c) it still gets dark outside a mere 20 minutes after it gets light in the morning! Personally, I find it all to be a huge downer, and am in desperate need of a little mirth to cheer myself up… how about you?
So in order to try and make it all a bit easier (and bearable) for us all to get to that first real weekend of 2014, I’m tossing out a few of my favourite “Monty Python” skits to, if nothing else, deliver a wee bit of “Hump-Day Happiness” while we struggle towards that target. I hope you enjoy them as much as rat tart or spam! Please note the “Canadian Content” in the first sketch, “The Lumberjack Song”- and if you’re not a fan of Python yet, after watching these you will either love them or never want to watch them ever again… let’s hope it’s the former!
Happy 2014 Everyone~!
