I recently met a young filmmaker named Braedan Houtman who sent me this short film he’d made entitled “Totem”.
The first time I watched it, I fell in love with the visuals of our beautiful province, all bathed in the gorgeous sunlight, and the image of this faceless man trudging through the wilderness on a quest.
The second time I watched it, I still loved the visuals, but began listening to the words a little more closely; the message was slowly penetrating my thick skull, and it was beautiful.
By the fifth viewing I was blown away by the over all powerful message that both the subject and the filmmaker were sharing through this remarkable short film.
I’m not going write it here, because it’s best heard with the beautiful images and carefully chosen music that accompany it; but I promise that you will love the simplicity of what these guys have to say.
All I can say is “Wow”, and thank Braedan for sharing this with me, so that I could share it with you.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and pass it along as well.
