A few years ago I stumbled upon a video of Nick Vujicic, an young Australian speaker who happened to be born without any limbs, speaking to a group of youth at a high school. And although Nick’s personal beliefs are very faith based (He is a Christian with an unshakable faith in God) his message is not; more so, it’s a message that everyone – especially youth struggling with their identity – should watch over and over again. His infectious laugh, attitude and approach to life makes us all realize that we are in control of our lives, if only we choose to be. I was really thrilled when this morning, whilst surfing around looking for some inspiring stories to blog about, Nick’s video resurfaced and got me all pumped up, once again. (Note: There are now many, many videos of Nick to check out if you are interested)
Nick is a very accomplished person: At 29, he is husband and father; he has authored several books, (and a DVD appropriately titled “No Arms, No Legs, No Worries”) has a Bachelor of Commerce (Double majoring in Financial Planning and Accountancy) and is a highly sought after inspirational speaker. Actually, these days Nick spends the majority of his time spreading his inspiring message of acceptance and belief in what we can all achieve, regardless of what life has thrown at us, and why wouldn’t we listen? He truly “Walks his talk”; in fact, his message is so powerful that in 2005 he was awarded the Young Australian of the Year Award, which is as you can imagine, a huge honour.
Check out Nick in this video; and while you are watching it, ask yourself “Who do I know that could benefit from Nick’s story and message?”. If you find that you can name someone, then do them a favour and share Nick’s awesome message – it might be just the thing they need.
In the meantime Enjoy meeting Nick Vujicic! Fish OUT~!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKTg_INHgpc
