It’s the Friday before a holiday Monday, (Victoria Day here in Canada) and the sun is shining! It’s beautiful and warm outside, the flowers are in bloom, birds are chirping, and best of all, there’s an EXCELLENT movie coming out this week that Tristan and I are dying to see – Godzilla! Yay! Which may I also add, was partially filmed on beautiful Vancouver Island in the towns of Nanaimo and Ladysmith – just in case you were wondering why “San Francisco” looked so beauty, eh?
And if that isn’t awesome enough, we’ve got a bunch of thick, juicy steaks and beer in the fridge, all chilled up and ready for a Sunday afternoon BBQ with friends; then, after spending the 2 1/2 days revelling in all this “Long Weekend Goodness”, we’ve got a bonus 24 hours to recover from it all by sleeping in, then lounging around, watching movies and convincing ourselves that the “Miss Vickies” potato chips and grilled cheese sandwiches we will consume are nutritional meals… or not. Who cares? It’s a long weekend!
So in honour of this, I present a few pictures so you have an idea of how our weekend will play out, and maybe, just maybe, you might find something that will interest you as well… or not. Who cares? Did I mention IT’S A LONG WEEKEND?! It’s time to do whatever it is that makes you feel good, and lots of it! I hope you have an awesome weekend, and share the good times with your friends and loved ones doing what you love best… even if that doesn’t mean watching Godzilla!
An “AWESOME” LONG WEEKEND – “Fish” Style!
Whether or not you find ideas or inspiration from it, here’s my recommendations for how to spend a “May Long”: Begin on Day One by watching an important documentary / commentary on the dangers of radiation… aka: Godzilla!
Day Two, organize a few friends to stop by, and have them bring one or two (or ten) of these:
And then enjoy your day and night indulging in way too much food, drink and conversations about how great the “May Long” is, all with the knowledge you have another day off. Then, on the next day – Day Three – locate these items:
A Big Screen Television
Miss Vickies Chips
And just like that, you are ready to finish off the perfect long weekend. Now it’s time to sit back, relax, watch a little T.V. and just enjoy the fact that your work week will only be 4 days long; and while you’re at it, give a “shout out” to Queen Victoria for making it all possible! Thank You for thinking of us all those years ago, and our need to have an extra day off in May! We appreciate it!
And with that, I want to wish you all a Happy “May Long” – now go out and have some serious FUN!
